Meet J. Brad Bergford

Brad Bergford is a member of Illumine Legal LLC and leads the litigation team. Brad’s practice emphasizes litigation in the areas of First Amendment rights, as well as employment law, commercial and private contracts, and torts. He has handled legal matters in State district courts and the Colorado Court of Appeals, as well as federal courts, including the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Brad serves as president of the Colorado chapter of National Lawyers Association, as well as president of the Commission for the Protection of Constitutional Rights. Brad is also executive director of Go4Word, an organization that reaches high school students with the hope of Christ through regular fellowship and meals. Brad is an Allied Attorney and a Blackstone Fellow with Alliance Defending Freedom.
Brad Bergford is one of the few remaining Colorado natives, having been brought up in Boulder County. He and his wife have four grown children, three of whom are married. Brad and his wife love the Colorado outdoors. Brad loves fishing, hiking, sports of all types, and is an avid singer and pianist.
